Reviews only help if people can trust them. This page says exactly how feedback is collected through Shopdresser, what is shown on a business's page, and what is not allowed.

How feedback is collected

  • A business invites its customers by email or message after a visit, or shows a QR code at its counter.
  • Every customer gets the same request. Nobody is selected because they looked happy.
  • The customer gives a rating and, if they wish, a comment and a first name.
  • After that, everyone sees the same link to leave a public review on Google — whether they gave one star or five. We never route unhappy customers away from public review sites, and we do not hide the link from anyone.
  • No reward is offered or allowed in exchange for feedback.

Are reviewers verified?

We say this plainly: feedback given through an invitation sent by the business comes from a person the business listed as its customer. Feedback given through the QR code or the open link is not checked — anyone who has the link can leave it. We do not claim that every comment comes from a verified purchase.

What is shown on a business's page

  • A comment appears on the page only if the person who wrote it allowed it, and the business switched it on.
  • A business cannot edit the text or the rating of a comment. It can choose not to show a comment on its own page, and it can reply.
  • Because a business chooses which comments appear, the comments on its page are a selection. Its page does not show an average rating calculated from them.
  • Ratings and reviews on Google are published by Google under Google's own rules. We cannot change or remove them.

What is not allowed

Businesses may not write reviews themselves or have them written, pay or reward for reviews, ask only satisfied customers, or pressure anyone to change an honest review. This is part of the Acceptable use policy; an account that does it can be closed.

Reporting a review

If you believe a comment on a business's page is fake, abusive or about you, tell us through Report a problem. A person looks at it. We tell you what we decided, and we tell the business if we remove something.

For customers who are asked for feedback

You are free not to answer. You are asked once and reminded at most once. Your contact details are used by the business for this purpose under its own responsibility; see the Privacy policy.
